Capturing the essence of a fellow human being is what my photography practice is all about.

I call it a PRACTICE and not a BUSINESS for a number of reasons:

It's not about money.

It's not about scaling up.

It's not about working out what "the market" (whatever that is) expects and then making an offer to deliver it.

Paula Gosney, 2024

Making a living at it is key.

Don't get me wrong.

I do want more clients - why else would I write a blog on my website?

I want to show you how a shoot with me will make a difference in your business life. This is partly about persuasion. A girl's gotta pay her studio rent!

And I do want to make what you need.

It's just that I'm secure in the knowledge that what you, LinkedIn, and business in general ACTUALLY NEED is more truthful, interesting photographs of complex, unique people in business.

People like you.

Alexis Govia, June 2025.

Taking those is an art.

It requires mutual vulnerability, mutual respect, mutual appreciation.

It requires a willingness to step into unfamiliar territory, with optimism and a creative view.

It requires a photographer with an artist's eye and a heart for people.

Someone like me.

So if you want MORE from your experience, you're done with conventional corporate headshots that pretend to be professional, and you're not afraid of being seen as the true you...come to me next time you need new pics.

The algorithm loves your face and so do I.
